the remaining armenian minority in islamic republic of iran still largest christian community in country, ahead of assyrians. armenians remain powerful religious minority in iran. appointed 2 seats in iranian parliament (the within religious minority branch) , minority official observing status in guardian , expediency discernment councils. today in iran there 150,000 - 300,000 armenians left, half of live in tehran area. quarter live in isfahan, , other quarter concentrated in northwestern iran or iranian azerbaijan. majority of armenians live in suburbs of tehran, notably narmak, majidiyeh, nadershah, etc.
