chhoti gandak groundwater-fed meandering river originating near dhesopool, maharajganj district of uttar pradesh. travels distance of 250 kilometres (160 mi) , joins ghaghara near guthani, siwan district of bihar. chhoti gandak river basin located between 26°00 27°20 n latitude , 83°30 84°15 e longitude. right bank tributaries khekhra, hirna, jethan, maun, duhari, kanchi , koilar rivers; khanua river joins left bank. discharge of chhoti gandak controlled rain, high during monsoon season , low during summers. has been observed whenever precipitation high in catchment areas, there flood in downstream part of chhoti gandak river basin. region exhibits upland terrace surface, river valley terrace surface, present-day river channel narrow flood plains, natural levee, , point-bar deposits. these geomorphic features depositional in nature , made of alluvium of different ages.
