venice biennale in 1995
in 1995, @ 46th venice biennale celebrating centennial year, senju, represented japan, exhibited huge waterfall mural in japan pavilion, measuring 3.4 meters high , 14 meters wide. senju titled work “the fall”, implied fall of man, in christian theology, god expelling adam , eve garden.
during installation process, welding contractor accidentally dropped scorching coal tar on painting. senju, watching incident happened, rushed , removed coal tar bare hand. had go emergency hospital left hand got burned. consolation senju’s dominant hand uninjured, being able repair damage opening of biennale.
senju’s waterfall first painting asian artist awarded honorable mention, having “expressed meditative world of nature , fluctuations of japan’s traditional culture.”

haneda airport
from 2004 2011, senju created series of large commissioned works haneda airport in tokyo, japan.
these works include: water shrine, painting, 2.5 meters high 17.9 meters wide, located @ international terminal in front of immigration inspection. ginga (galaxy), painting, 100 square meters, on top ceiling of terminal 2. youru no kohan (evening lakeside), painting measuring 2.5 meters high , 12.5 meters wide, located @ terminal 2, 1f terminal lobby. moon, sitting sculpture of bull, located @ terminal 2, 5f market place. asa no kohan (morning lakeside), painting, 2.5 meters high , 14 meters wide, located @ terminal 2, 1f terminal lobby.

in 2007, hiroshi senju created series of 20 fusuma (paper sliding door) paintings shofuso japanese house , garden, in philadelphia, pa. asked replace destroyed fusuma paintings of japanese national treasure, artist higashiyama kaii, senju said, shofuso offers wonderful space murals far exceeding expectations, , best paint murals symbolizing , important symbolic exchange between japan , united states.
senju completed installation in july 2006. named largest murals (8 x 12 1/2 ), serve centerpiece in tokonoma alcove, water curtain, play on classic symbol of cold war, iron curtain. curtain, layers of falling water, meant symbolize freedom of philadelphia, birthplace of united states. 6 murals in first room named imagination of dynamics , of second room titled imagination of silence.
the murals first exhibited @ gwangju biennale in south korea in 2006 , subsequently exhibited @ yamatane museum in tokyo, japan. more fifty thousand visitors saw murals prior installation @ shofuso. murals shipped final destination in philadelphia, arriving in march , installed in april 2007.
in donating new murals, senju honored shōfusō in ancient japanese tradition of master painters offering talents community. shofuso place outside japan house unique combination of contemporary art , traditional japanese architecture.

in 2015, senju exhibited large-scale fluorescent pigment waterfalls ryujin , ryujin ii in pitch-dark space, , natural pigment waterfall suijin under daylight @ frontiers reimagined, collateral event of venice biennale curated , organized sundaram tagore foundation.
kongōbu-ji
in 2015, officially confirmed senju create series of fusuma paintings head temple of kongōbu-ji of koyasan, located on mount kōya, wakayama, japan.
