this public all-news channel created on april 26, 1999 service contract between italian public television network rai , italian minister of communications. started broadcasting @ 6am.

until 19/5/2000, channel broadcast live 5 days week (weekdays only) , replayed weekend. following day, started airing live news 7 days week. since time, becomes first 24-hour live rolling news channel in italia.

on february 24, 2013 @ 7:00 am, channel has resumed old name rai news24, @ same time adopting new newsroom , graphical modified: bumpers , graphics of network have been updated new logo.

on september 27, 2015 @ 5:15am, channel has adopted new newsroom white , improved graphics design.

on july 11, 2016, channel has adopted change in graphics. logo has changed blue box as-well bottom half of screen @ possibly 5:15am cet, , clock blue @ 5:30am cet. headlines (blue bar) appear in smaller size. @ right of it, there small orange box, featuring stock markets.

on 4 january 2017, channel started broadcasting in hd. adopted new format showing logo: seen on upper left of screen, while before on upper right.

on 9 july 2017, rai news24 closed in international after being removed , restored several times during summer 2017.
