following 55 hours of flight testing on 99 flights, results inconclusive; although prone position concept feasible, development of special aviation clothing (g-suits) offered simpler solution problem of counteracting inertial forces, , prone position meteor no longer needed. although prone pilots able control aircraft standard meteor, extreme forward position limited rear view presented problem in mock combat conventional aircraft.
meteor f8 wk935 retired after year , after storage @ no. 12 maintenance unit, aircraft sent raf colerne before being preserved @ royal air force museum cosford in uk.
