In game theory Dictator
in social choice theory, notion of dictator formally defined person can achieve feasible social outcome he/she wishes. formal definition yields interesting distinction between 2 different types of dictators.
the strong dictator has, social goal he/she has in mind (e.g. raise taxes, having killed, etc.), definite way of achieving goal. can seen having explicit absolute power, sulla.
the weak dictator has, social goal he/she has in mind, , political scenario, course of action bring desired goal. weak dictator, not enough give orders , rather he/she has manipulate political scene appropriately. means weak dictator might lurking in shadows, working within political setup seems non-dictatorial. example of such figure lorenzo magnificent, controlled renaissance florence.
note these definitions disregard alleged dictators not interested in actual achieving of social goals, as in propaganda , controlling public opinion. monarchs , military dictators excluded these definitions, because rule relies on consent of other political powers (the nobility or army).
