History 7th Indian Infantry Division

during april, division once again came under command of xxxiii corps , advanced down west bank of irrawaddy. after rangoon, capital, captured in may, division directly commanded new headquarters of twelfth army , resisted japanese diversionary attacks across sittang river during monsoon.


after war ended, in september 1945, division moved thailand, disarmed japanese occupying army, , liberated , repatriated allied prisoners of war.


following partition of india in 1947 7th division became 7th infantry division of pakistan army.
