at age of 20, yatsu competed in amateur wrestling @ 1976 summer olympics in montreal. did not place in tournament.


1980 summer olympics

he have participated in 1980 summer olympics in moscow, japan chose follow american-led boycott.


controversial ioc banishment

in 1986 yatsu took hiatus professional wrestling in order 1 last time chase olympic dream. however, after winning japanese national championship in super heavyweight division in 1986 , while training 1987 asian wrestling championships, international olympic committee declared yatsu professional athlete , banned him not competition, 1988 summer olympics. decision stunned many people, yatsu didn t file appeal.
