written brian hayles, submitted production office during spring of 1971. story involved ice warrior plan invade earth using z beam freezes things strikes absolute zero. when used on humans, turns them zombie-like slaves. script editor dicks rejected storyline, inclusion of ice warriors inspired development of curse of peladon.


the daleks in london

the daleks in london, commissioned on 25 may 1971, final story of season 9 in 1972, re-introducing daleks after five-year absence. little known exact storyline of six-part robert sloman serial, other fact have had similarities dalek invasion of earth, except set in contemporary london. similarity caused production team concern, , producer barry letts decided rather start series dalek adventure instead of ending one. unrelated submission louis marks therefore rewritten day of daleks, , time monster written , commissioned replace original series finale.
