the sfuo owns 4 student run businesses:


pivik

a convenience store located in university centre, sells groceries , school supplies. sells hot food.


the agora bookstore

the agora bookstore created in 1999 goal of providing cheaper textbooks. in 2006, students voted in referendum maintain levy $9 per full-time student per semester subsidize agora. agora, however, not allowed sell textbooks on campus, , such located on besserer street.

from 1981 2002, sfuo owned , operated bar located within university centre called equinox , later shortened nox . closed after having lost around 500 000 $ in last 5 years of operation. sfuo briefly opened bar called universe city lounge above agora bookstore, closed after 1 year of operation. in 2006, sfuo opened new bar called 1848 in university centre.

located in basement of simard hall, café alt opened in october 2008 green , fair-trade student café deli sandwich bar, variety of fair trade coffees, after being abandoned chartwells, university s food provider, in 2007. café alt s basement home 3 smaller student associations; gaia, geography students s association, aÉdf (association des Étudiants du département de français), , students association of faculty of arts, manages event booking in space.
