in 1889, members of club of czech tourists visited world exposition in paris , inspired eiffel tower. collected sufficient amount of money , in march 1891 building of tower started general land centennial exhibition. finished in 4 months.


in 1953, television broadcasting antenna installed on petřínská rozhledna, program feed performed directional radio antenna. served prague s main television signal provider until opening of Žižkov television tower in late 1992.


in 1999, tower renovated.


from 21 january 2013 tower operated city of prague museum
