the yuko nii foundation alabasters of adam , eve came light; these 12th-century versions of autun cathedral adam , eve lintels may surviving replica of giselbertus adam masterpiece, makes significant. no other drawings or other copies of giselbertus adamhave been seen in our time in library or museum. “eve has seductive quality no other 12th-century artist has equaled. if other block (adam) had survived, have had in completion of great masterpiece”. in 1837, archaeologists freed last judgment mortar , in 1858, architectural restorer viollet-le-duc restored tympanum replacing lost or damaged sculptures copies, leaving head of christ unrestored. in 1948, st. lazare s choir-master abbe denis grivot, proved , others had suspected. head of christ in nearby museum sculpture had been removed 200 years previously. grivot found sculpture fit tympanum. other sculptures remain missing.
