format

from series 1 11, sir bruce forsyth , tess daly presented pro-celebrity ballroom dancing competition. series 8 11, forsyth presented main show , replaced results show claudia winkleman, @ point daly assumed forsyth s role main presenter , winkleman assumed daly s role co-presenter. winkleman has joined daly full-time co-presenter series 12 following forsyth s departure after 2013 series. through telephone voting, viewers vote in next round, results of poll being combined ranking of judges. example, ten contestants left, judges favourite receive ten points, second favourite 9 points, , on, , viewers rankings. bottom ranked couple gets 1 point. profits telephone lines donated sport relief in series 1, , children in need series 2 5.

the waltz, cha cha cha, quickstep, rumba, tango, jive, foxtrot, paso doble , samba have been danced since series 1.
the american smooth , viennese waltz added in series 3.
the salsa , argentine tango added in series 4.
no more dances added until series 7, week 11 when couples performed either charleston (which winner chris hollins chose perform again in final) or rock n roll routine. final featured head-to-head lindyhop. of these dances, charleston retained subsequent series, although elements of lindyhop have featured in showdances.
series 8 introduced swing-a-thon, remaining couples dance swing simultaneously , voted off dancefloor 1 one judges until 1 couple remains. returned in series 9 , 11.
