on july 4, 2006, krog returned nhl signed atlanta thrashers. however, after 14 games in atlanta, placed on waivers , picked on january 12, 2007, new york rangers. krog played 9 games rangers , later reclaimed atlanta on february 26.


after failing make thrashers team @ start of 2007–08 season, krog sent down minor league affiliate, chicago wolves, gave krog chance re-energize career. after scoring 36 goals , 112 points, captured john b. sollenberger trophy league s top point scorer, willie marshall award top goal scorer , les cunningham award league mvp. led wolves divisional title , second calder cup in 7 years. leading playoffs in scoring, awarded jack a. butterfield trophy playoff mvp. 26 assists tied ahl record in single playoffs (shared bill mcdougall, 1993; domenic pittis, 2000; , rob brown, 2002) .


on july 11, 2008, signed unrestricted free agent vancouver canucks. however, on july 18, krog , 5 other players suspended international ice hockey federation pending investigation regarding simultaneous player contracts both nhl , russian kontinental hockey league. nevertheless, krog began season canucks ahl affiliate, manitoba moose. called vancouver in light of injuries , scored first goal canuck on october 25, 2008, in 6–3 win against edmonton oilers. on november 5, reassigned manitoba moose , finished year top score 85 points , earning selection ahl s second all-star team.


on july 3, 2009, returned atlanta thrashers organization when signed unrestricted free agent two-year contract. after starting 2009–10 season ahl affiliate, chicago wolves, krog recalled thrashers 2 games offensive cover after losing ilya kovalchuk injury failed appear in game. on november 1, returned wolves duration of season, leading team 61 assists 75 points.


from 2011 until 2014, played hv71 in shl, after 3 seasons hv71, on june 9, 2014, signed one-year contract, along former wolves teammate, darren haydar, in kontinental hockey league croatian club, khl medveščak zagreb. in 2014–15 season, krog recorded 1 assist in 5 games before opting leave club. haydar following suit, both signed try-out contract austrian club, ec vsv, on october 2, 2014. after showing scoring touch in villach, krog , haydar both opted remain signing one-year contract on october 15, 2014.
