written eric pringle, story dealt people offering sacrifices sentient rocks. pringle commissioned on 11 august 1975 producer philip hinchcliffe write first 2 episodes of four-part story. pringle submitted final 2 episodes without commission on 10 march 1976, story cancelled on 23 june 1976.

the beasts of manzic

written robin smyth, six-part story rejected on 13 may 1975.

the eyes of nemesis

written brian hayles, story submitted production office on 15 may 1975. involve doctor , sarah in chase between hunter torr , quarry lakdem. towards end of adventure revealed torr works celestial toymaker.

fires of starmind

written marc platt, unsolicited story submitted script editor robert holmes in late 1975 , dealt sentient star using time lord libraries means of invading gallifrey. holmes felt lacked action , drama, , in need of proper antagonist. so, robert holmes thought fires of starmind had more potential of other amateur submissions , encouraged marc platt continue writing. fires of starmind rejected on 15 december.

the haunting

written terrance dicks, six-part story submitted @ start of november 1974 , have dealt vampires. storyline commissioned on 11 december 1974, abandoned on 13 may 1975. dicks later reused of material 1977 script vampire mutation, story became state of decay.

the menday fault

written david wiltshire, unsolicited script six-part story. story revolved around nuclear submarine diving fault of menday , discovering subterranean world. sun world dying , underground dwellers, suranians led zorr, planning invade surface world. wiltshire never commissioned develop storyline further.

the nightmare planet

written dennis spooner, story concerned planet drugs in food , water used control populace. punishment meted out temporary withdrawal drugs cause people see monsters around them. storyline four-part story commissioned on 31 january 1975 , full scripts on 4 february 1975.

the prisoner of time

written barry letts, storyline four-part story commissioned on 21 january 1975. based on audition piece role of sarah jane smith letts had written in 1973 , known time lord story. scripts requested, hinchcliffe unhappy draft of first part , story dropped.

pyramids of mars (greifer)

written lewis greifer, story commissioned in july 1974. story involve museum keepers being chased out of british museum mummy. turn out group scaring people away in order gain access sarcophagus contain wild rice thousands of years ago. group wanted use rice seed mars , make fortune. replaced robert holmes pyramids of mars when griefer fell ill , scripts came in late , not production team wanted.
