seven out of ten undergraduates live on campus. students can choose 40 residences small special interest houses, traditional dorms, shared apartments. there 25 residence halls. similar residential colleges, students organize discussions , bring in guest speakers , plan several activities together. upperclassmen have option of living in special interest housing 15 houses reflecting specific cultural or academic interest. each house offers organizes several activities , events not limited residents. shared apartments popular in university apartments sophia gordon hall (sogo) primary gathering place juniors , seniors. high density residential neighborhood around university provides additional housing students opt live off campus.
the university has 2 main dining centers, dewick-macphie serving downhill students, , carmichael serving uphill students. each dining hall has different menu , atmosphere. both offer european-style servery multiple stations. princeton review has listed tufts in best campus food category since 2005, ranking high second. menus these dining halls can found @ tufts recipes. in addition 2 main dining centers, there variety of smaller cafes, including kosher deli , hodgdon food-to-go offers students place grab quick bite go.
