history

the club founded victoria city in 1958 play in second division of gozo football league; town of victoria had long tradition in maltese football through several older defunct clubs , still present victoria hotspurs.


early years

victoria picked first piece of silverware during 1962–63 winning gozitan second division, promoted top level of island s football system. name changed sk wanderers in 1963 step top league.


after 4 seasons in gozitan first division, club thrown out of league , banned 2 seasons. around this, club refounded sabina united following season in second division, managed gain promotion straight top division. second return top division in 1968, went under name victoria wanderers, relegated straight down.


league success

this time stayed longer spell in second division, gaining promotion in 1973–74 season victoria united, league had been expanded 6 clubs, eleven season. however, yo-yo time club , bounced between 2 leagues during decade, picking second division title third time in 1977–78.


victoria united crowned champions of gozo in 1978–79, year after had won second division. prestigious title won club, , time have finished top in whole of gozo. didn t last long club bouncing between leagues again, winning fourth second division title.


recent times

during 1991 name of club changed 1 had used during 1960s; sk victoria wanderers, first season under name club won second division. since winning second division championship in 07/08, club have played continually in first division, finishing 3rd in 2011/2012.
