Rebuilding and expanding Abu Hanifa Mosque

in 1757, during rule of mamluk dynasty in iraq, vali of baghdad, suleiman pasha, renewed shrine , built dome , minaret. in 1217 ah / 1802 ad, of mosque s constructions fell down, causing destruction of parts of mosque, suleiman pasha, rectified matter , reconstructed old buildings , painted top of minaret gold. in 1255 ah / 1839 ad, sultan abdülmecid ordered reconstruct old damaged parts of mosque , decorate tunic al-masjid an-nabawi, welcomed superior greetings residents of baghdad because of holiness.
in 1288 ah / 1871 ad, mother of abdülaziz, pertevniyal sultan, vowed when sick, if got healed, rebuild mosque own money, did after got better. sultan abdulaziz ordered form committee consisted of 3 employees in mosque , mayor of adhamiyah. cost of reconstructing mosque 80,000 liras. committee made construction map , gave popular engineer in baghdad, asit karz, map contained 2 hallways, several rooms south, east , north, garden, chapel, big courtyard , school teaching quran. reconstructing lasted 5 years.
