among countries significant public funding of healthcare there many different approaches funding , provision of medical services. systems may funded general government revenues (as in canada) or through government social security system (as in australia, france, belgium, japan , germany) separate budget , hypothecated taxes or contributions. proportion of cost of care covered differs: in canada, hospital care paid government, while in japan, patients must pay 10 30% of cost of hospital stay. services provided public systems vary. example, belgian government pays bulk of fees dental , eye care, while australian government covers eye care not dental care.
