on january 14, 2010, announced john kasich s choice lieutenant governor , running mate governor of ohio in 2010 election.


on november 2, 2010, kasich defeated incumbent governor ted strickland (d). taylor became lieutenant governor on january 10, 2011. named director of ohio department of insurance same day.


kasich , taylor re-elected in november 2014.


on february 23, 2017 formed campaign committee raise money , campaign in 2018 ohio gubernatorial election.
