volkmarsen lies on northern edge of waldecker tafel (waldecker shield (geology)) flattens out diemel valley, 28 km northwest of kassel , 7 km northeast of bad arolsen.


neighbouring communities

volkmarsen borders in north on town of warburg (höxter district in north rhine-westphalia), in east on community of breuna , town of wolfhagen (both in kassel district), in south , west on town of bad arolsen , in northwest on town of diemelstadt (both in waldeck-frankenberg).


constituent communities

besides main town, bears same name whole, town of volkmarsen consists of centres of ehringen, herbsen, hörle, külte , lütersheim.
