it has since been revealed 7 soldiers indeed part of established history, characters reappear in final crisis , events referenced. transpires when darkseid died (when, , how, subject of controversy in itself) fell through time. he, , many of other new gods, incarnated in pre-existing human bodies. most, if not of these perished during final crisis, releasing godly essence.
