north carolina highway 13 original state highway running durham, north through rougemont , roxboro ending @ sr 18 @ virginia state line. highway s routing appeared on 1916 highway map north carolina state highway commission 5 year federal aid program. nc 13 not officially marked on state highway maps until 1924; routed nc 10/nc 75 in durham north through rougemont , timberlake nc 57 east of roxboro. nc 13 turned toward west roxboro, before intersecting nc 144 , turning north. highway had northern terminus @ virginia state line near south boston. 1926 routing of nc 13 shifted west between timberlake , roxboro, providing direct link between cities. route deleted in 1930, 501/nc 55 taking on entirety of routing.
