biography
early life

at age of six, koby israelite started taking classical piano lessons @ tel aviv conservatory of music. @ age of 15 started play drum kit , studied jazz @ david rich school of drumming in tel aviv. self-taught on brother’s left handed right handed guitar, joined several rock, punk , heavy metal bands.


whilst living , studying in israel became exposed whole range of different styles , genres variety of locations around world, has rounded eclectic style.


after finishing studies in israel turned down chance study @ berklee college of music , instead moved london further career.


early career

after moving london number of new opportunities arose in koby s career. joined rock group , became professional session drummer, mastering numerous musical styles jazz metal drum , bass west african funk.


after band failed agree on terms of proposed record contract decided part ways , become more independent artist, led start of composition , recording of own solo material.


after seeing romanian gypsy outfit taraf de haïdouks play live in london, koby became endeared accordion. acquisition of accordion milestone in koby s musical direction.


israelite began gigging , recording number of taraf de haidouks members having music covered fanfare ciocărlia.


after building bamba studios @ home in london, israelite began producing, writing , arranging himself , others.


koby sent demo recording idol , major influence john zorn, milestone in koby israelite s career.


signing tzadik

koby israelite offered recording contract new york label tzadik records in april 2003, owned john zorn himself. released 4 albums through established tzadik records imprint, dance of idiots (2003), mood swings (2005) orobas: book of angels volume 4 (2006) , listening? (2009).


koby israelite contributed number of albums written john zorn under masada book 2: book of angels series.


becoming independent artist

after success through tzadik label, koby managed establish himself independent artist. independently released king papaya adventurous record date. continuing recording , production of own solo work studio , touring projects range of other artists , musicians.

koby s music has appeared on bbc , channel 4.


he produced original score israeli academy award winning tv programme “the ten commandments”.


he selected appear in madonna’s directorial debut film filth , wisdom.


he has written original score multi-award winning film jerusalem syndrome.
