angott defeated mexican boxer kid azteca in second last fight on june 26, 1950 @ dudley field in el paso in ten-round unanimous decision. azteca had formerly held mexican welterweight title. crowd of 3,500 displeased frequent clinching in bout, largely done angott. handlers had difficulty separating 2 boxers after final bell, , small riot ensued requiring police escort angott dressing room.
